*.* The Fruits of Our Labour *.*
During our first Dec Camp meeting, my committee sat down and was brainstorming about the objectives of the camp. I gave them a question to think about: What do the catechumens and sponfrienders need from this camp?
Through God's grace, all of us came up with similar ideas... at least along the lines lah... Reconciliation, dying to your old self, becoming more reflective and prayerful...
Yeaps... that's the picture which Kenny took on our very first meeting.
Indeed, it has taken a lot of efforts, prayers, fasting, planning, arguments, debating, brainstorming, trashing out, thinking blah blah to actually plan out the whole December camp. Goodness.. it's simply no joke man... Gotta plan session objectives and to make sure that the sessions flow after one another... and most importantly, whether the sessions flow according to the entire Gospel passage about the Samaritan woman.
The sponfrienders definitely put in a lot of thought into the sessions and that is why we are now tasting the fruits of our labour. The taste is sweet... very sweet. All the sponfrienders are sharing with one another about how their catechumens have benefitted from the camp. And whenever we share about our catechumens, we sound like proud parents, beaming with joy and satisfaction.
We are indeed very happy that our catechumens have brought home something with them. Most importantly, through all the sessions and events, we are happy that they brought Jesus home, into their lives. After all, we reallie hope that all of us will leave the camp, resolving to live a Christ-centred life.
The sponfrienders are more sure than ever, that the journey towards Baptism is laid out already. The path is straighter for all of you and it is easier to walk on now. Why? Cos' you guys have experienced Jesus, and most importantly, experienced the joys of conversion and repentance.
Savouring these fruits of our labour are indeed a great source of motivation for the sponfrienders to keep on giving and serving, without any receiving. Thank God for all these! Without His guidance and blessings, the December Camp would not have been an instrumental tool in drawing all of us back to God - our Alpha and Omega.
Personally, I am very touched by all the warm fuzzies I had recevied from the catechumens. I will definitely treasure these fuzzies cos I could feel the openess and sincerity in these short notes. These are the things which I hold onto dearly to keep me going in sharing faith and God with you. Thank you dearies! I hope I will spend more time with you dearies and to share God and faith with you.
